Peter Jones is one of Britain’s most popular entrepreneurs with a proven business track record and a growing portfolio of investments in dynamic ventures. Wickedweb are thrilled to work with Peter Jones on the launch of his new collection of business apparel. Since appearing on Dragon’s Den, Peter has been inundated with enquiries about where to buy his distinctive stripy socks and iconic cufflinks. This led to the idea of this website, which makes his Collection accessible to all. What’s more, all profits made from “The Peter Jones Collection” are donated directly to his charity The Peter Jones Foundation.
The brief to Wickedweb was to deliver a robust e-commerce solution for “The Peter Jones Collection”. Respecting brand values, it was essential that the Collection was delivered as a creative showcase in order to launch this stylish product range with impact. “The Peter Jones Collection” website was rolled out in December 2010.
Using fresh and modern photography, the design worked hard to deliver an intuitive journey through the purchasing process. Running alongside this, a range of simple but impactful key templates were created to present the product categories.
“The Peter Jones Collection” was delivered on the award winning Wickedweb CMS e-commerce platform. This was perfect for the requirement to allow scalability and flexibility, as long term plans extend to provide additional functionality. This e-commerce platform allowed Wickedweb to seamlessly integrate with the payment gateway and warehousing API, to deliver an end to end solution.
Not only does the end user benefit from the Wickedweb e-commerce platform, but the CMS user also enjoys a slick interface. For example, the CMS user can experience full control around features such as currency, tax, delivery options, stock control and promotional codes to name just a few – all pre-requisites defined by the client. Additionally, Wickedweb deliver full reporting for this website to optimise performance.
The site has enjoyed high organic traffic volumes, with Twitter driving further spikes. Conversions were above the industry standard during the launch period and reached nearly 6.5%. In fact, the site sold out of his socks in 48 hours!
