Brand identity development, website design, Content Management System
The Glass-House Community Led Design is a national charity working with community groups across the UK to promote a wider understanding and practice of community led design. The charity needed brand identity development, digital strategy expertise and an easy to use content management system for long-term and cost effective website updates.
The Glass-House, who offer free project support and design training services to community groups who are leading regeneration projects in their area, were concerned that the existing brand guidelines were producing inconsistent communication online and off. Wickedweb's initial brief was to develop the brand identity further, rationalising the colour pallet and improving the typeface for long-term communication effectiveness.
The Glass-House then asked Wickedweb to develop the charity’s digital strategy, ensuring enhanced visibility in Google, raised awareness and improved functionality to ensure a positive user experience on the website. Objectives included:
- To feature strong creative based on the new branding, balancing design with different types of content.
- To be content managed via an intuitive system that allows quick updates and powers a number of interactive features.
- To encourage online donations through the Just Giving account
Our strategy was to develop new brand guidelines to demonstrated a clear understanding of the complex range of services the charity offers, by redefining the charity’s use of colour. We wanted to refresh and clarify the brand to provide a set of guiding principles that will ensure clear communications and successful marketing campaigns long-term.
Our strategy for the charity’s new website was to focus on the creative to set the organisation apart from competitors and to launch with a design that delivers stylish impact and demonstrates all that The Glass-House offers in the way of community regeneration support. We combined our creative skills with the recommendation to use the WickedwebCMS as the technical platform to deliver cost effective yet impressive functionality.
The brand guidelines now give the charity a strong identity and use a set of colors to differentiate areas of service, making them easily recognizable for the target audience.
The website delivers an improved user journey with clear consideration for the volume of content, the design is the first example of the brand since the identity refresh and it appears strong and confident, and the website features a host of added value, interactive elements including an image gallery, project showcase Google map, event registration forms, events calendar, news & blog, training resource area and newsletter subscription. This was all achieved using our in house CMS system, Wickedweb CMS.
The website is in its infancy but we will be closely monitoring the statistics and reporting back to The Glass-House to really deliver return on investment. We will be tracking Google analytics performance statistics including dwell time, page views and unique visits, search engine organic ranking results, enquiries, donations and design training, study tour and debate bookings.
